Man what a whirl wind SDBW has been, with 3 days left we are not slowing down. Yesterday I got a bottle of Iron Fist "Resistance". Their Wild Ale aged 10 months in Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc barrels and bottled for 2 months of maturation. I am at a crossroad as to whether or not I should open it or save it for a big bottle share. Yesterday Jason and I had a bottle of Telegraph Petit Obscura from Telegraph Brewing while we watched the Chargers get smashed by the Raiders. Petit Obscura is another american wild Ale aged with Brettanomyces and Lactobacillus. Very good sour with a deep sour nose. It has a smooth drink and can probably drink a bottle or 2.
Today I will be attending the Carrier Classic (Thanks Geoff). This is a College Basketball game pitting #1 North Carolina vs. Michigan St on the USS Carl Vinson. I cannot wait to watch Harrison Barnes play basketball in person. This is going to be an interesting game with the weather conditions outside. 66 degrees with a 20% chance of rain. Most kids do not play outdoor basketball anymore so it will be interesting to see the adjustments the players can make with the cold and the wind.
After the game we will be attending the grilled cheese pairing with Karl Strauss at K&B Win Cellars in Del Cerro. This is the one beer week event that Sarah has been looking forward to so I am excited to get her out. After that we will be headed to Tipsy Crow if the weather permits.

Beer Week Day 3
Yesterday we took a trip El Cajon Brewing Company and Mazanitas Brewing out in east county. I had the Shady Lane pale ale at ECBC. It was a decent pale ale. For lunch I had a deep fried burger stuffed with sausage and pepperoni. It was very good. I will go back to ECBC in hope that they will have more of their own beers. I have heard good things about the El Cajones IPA, unfortunately they were out of it.
After ECBC we went out to Santee to Manzanitas Brewing. It has taken me a while to get out their because I haven't heard anyone rave about it. After going out their I can see why. first off it was very small and extremely packed. Let's go ahead and chalk that one up to beer week. Hopefully when they move into the new building it will have a bigger tasting room. Again we went out their for the Chaotic IPA and Witches Hair pumpkin ale, and both were out. We enjoyed a flight of their 5 staple beers. None of which grabbed my attention, although Sarah really likes their Gillespie Brown. I will give them a try again when they get moved into the new building.
Football day is here, you can find me every Sunday at Typhoon Saloon in PB among the masses of "Niner Nation". The 6-1 49ers take on the 3-4 Redskins. This is another one of those games that should be an easier win for the Niners, but we don't take anything for a given with this team. Frank Gore is looking for his 5th consecutive game of over 125 yards and a TD. The Niners have scored a rushing TD in all 7 games this year without allowing a rushing TD. Alex Smith continues to do just enough with the football and more importantly not turning it over.
After the Niner game we will head over to Taproom for their Ommegang event. I'm starting to become a fan of their beers. Open to suggestions for an event after that. Please leave a comment and let me know where you are headed.

Coachella Weekend Day 1
Wow what a ride Coachella was this year. Honestly one of the best weekends of my life. So the weekend started on Thursday with the drive to Indio. Once we arrived in Indio we went to meet the rest of our group at Food 4 Less. We stocked up on our food and beer of choice for the weekend. Then tried to hide our growlers for the car check. We arrive at the Polo grounds at choose what we feel will be the fastest line of cars to get inside and try to set up camp before the sun goes down. An hour in and 12 pack later we are inside with the growlers safely hidden. We get camp set up just after sundown and the party had begun. We set up camp right next to some Australians that were party animals. Our first stop for the night was the roller skating rink. Courtasy of @logiebearsall we got hooked up with free skates. After about an hour of skating we went back to the campsite and continued partying and meeting the people around us. Friday started off with a DJ set from Tokimonsta and 12th planet. After 12th Planet I did 3 songs at !!!. They had amazing stage presence and really had the crowd moving. After that I made it over for 3 songs on Moving Units. Again a lot of energy on the stage along with a very talented lead singer. Omar Rodriguez Lopez was next on my list. I have seen him with The Mars Volta numerous times so I stayed until about 3:20 to get to the Sahara Tent for Skrillex. I am not one for this dubstep movement, but after seeing Skrillex I can finally say that I get it. He was my top preformance of night one. Pulsating beats and you can tell by watching him that he was enjoying himself just as much as the crowd was. About 2/3 through his set he gets on the mic and announces that he is gonna have some friends join him on stage for the next song. I thought to myself that it was going to be "From First to Last". Sonny Moore A.K.A "skrillex" first band. It was not but instead Jonathon Davis from Korn came out and preformed a new song that they said will be on their new album. After Skrillex, I made my way over the the outdoor stage for Warpaint. Warpaint was on a lot of peoples list as a must see up and coming band. They are 4 musically talented ladies from LA. After that it was time to relax in some shade and enjoy a cold beer. I wondered into the what I called the "Lack of beer garden". In this "Beer garden" you had the choice of Newcastle or Heineken. So I had a Heineken found some shade and listen to the sound guy shut off the sound of Cee Lo Green when he ran over his set time after arriving 30 minutes late. After my beer I made my way out among the masses again to get a good spot up close for Lauryn Hill. Again to my disappointment she asked the crowd if anyone was a fugee fan, making me think that pras and wyclef were going to come out and perform some songs. Instead she did them solo. Still this was a great show and left people knowing without a doubt that she still has it and when she chooses to is going to take over the female rap game. Next came Cold War Kids. Anyone that knows me knows that CWK are one of my favorite bands. It took so long to get over there from Lauryn Hill, I couldn't get as close to the stage as I would of liked. After half the set and my phone dead I decided to go over and drop my phone off at the charging station and watch the end of Sleigh Bells. What a great choice it was. Slamming bass and good looking girls running around on stage is just what I needed. Black Keys were my next choice. Touted as one of the best bands out right now I was very interested in seeing them. Sadly again the sound was just horrible. What made it even worse and harder to hear was the crowd chanting "turn it up". I decided to go get some food and attempt to listen to the rest of the set. Sadly you can tell on their faces on that they could tell the crowd was not into it. After my dinner, I went to watch Kings of Leon. I loved their first couple albums, their last album was not as good as previous stuff. I know bands have tendancies to play newer music. Kings of Leon however did not. They played a lot of old songs and really did put on an amazing show. After KOL I went to pick up my phone and stumbled upon Robyn. She had the crowd rocking and dancing for 11:45 at night after a long day of music. I retrieved my phone and headed back to camp. To my suprise their was no one back at camp yet. I deicided to relax in the tent and wait for everyone. Not to my suprise I feel asleep. Overall It was a great first day and was kind of glad I had got some rest for what was going to be an Epic Saturday.

Opening Day part 2
Today we get to celebrate our World Series title with the team for the 1st time. This of coarse is the pre party to Friday and Saturday in SF. The Giants take on the Padres right down the street and 3:35 cannot come soon enough. Today is the first look we will have at MadBum who had himself quite the awesome post-season last year. Starting for the Padres is Aaron Harrang making his first start in San Diego, which is also his hometown. If I remember I will post pictures from today. Also we have the opening of Hodads downtown and Mission Brewery tasting room downtown.
Ok so last night was the worst national championship game I have ever seen. 34.5 % shooting, 1-11 behind the arc, Those are UCONN stats 5-19 from Kemba. And those are stats from 2011 National Champions. 94 total points. Butler had a 6 point lead with 19:00 left and then decided to take their ball and go home. They just shut down as UConn outscored them by 18 in the 2nd half to end Butler season the same way last season ended. Watching a Big Time program cut down the nets. I will congratulate the Huskies, Winning 11 straight knockout games from the Big East Tourney, all the way through the madness of March and on to a National Championship.
So todays bets are
Bos -145
ChiSox - 117
SF -128
Good Luck to the lady Irish as they look to win the women's National Championship tonight!

World Series Jitters??
Now I am not going to panic. We dropped 3 out of 4 to the hated Dodgers. 5 Errors cost us the first 2 games. Then on Saturday a 10-0 smash job showed the potential this lineup has. here is my breakdown of the first weekend and we get ready to celebrate on Tuesday as the boys come visit me in SD and we get the ball rolling.
1. Pat the Bat....after going 0-11 with 9 strikeouts in the World Series, Pat has started the season 2-14 with 2 Home Runs. I think he has to be the odd man out when Ross the boss comes back. Huff goes back to left witch in that ballpark is easier to play. Pat goes to the bench as a pitch hitter when he need a HR.
2. Starting pitching the first 3 starters combined for allowing 2 ER. Zito gives up 3 in the first inning then retired the next 14 batters. You have to admire Zito passion to go out there and compete. There are going to be nerves, there are going to be jitters, playing in the most hostile environment for the Giants and Zito is public punchingbag #1. His next start will come at home and we will see what he is made of.
3. Tejada - first 2 games he bats at the back of the lineup and goes 1-8. Saturday he leads off with Torres getting a rest and Rowand playing center. Tiggy goes 2-5 with 2 R and 2 RBI. Sunday he goes back to the bottom of the lineup 1-4 and ended a rally in the 7th with a greedy hack at a pitch at his ankles following 3 consecutive walks. You cannot hack like that especially as a veteran. I would like to see Brandon Crawford or Ehire Adrianza get hot and press the issue of calling one of them up. There is no other SS on the current bench.
Tonight we have the National Championship game pitting Butler making their 2nd consecutive National Title game vs. University of Kemba Walker. Kemba Walker will without a doubt be the best player on the court, but Butler is talented and as they are proving the best coached team in the tournament. UConn has playing in 10 knockout games in a row and just keep winning. a Kemba flop got them past SDSU. Tonight I think the run for UConn finally ends. I think Butler wins the game outright.
Todays plays are
Butler +3.5
Butler over 129.5
NYY -145
STL -150

Down but not Out
Well that didn't go as planned now did it. The Giants dropped their opening day game to the Bums 2-1. Lincecum takes the loss despite not allowing an ER. I'm still trying to figure out why Panda was calling for the ball with Kemp on 3rd and 1 out. I do appreciate Buster taking full responsibility of the throw even though Panda was calling for the ball. Congrats to Brandon Belt on what I thought was an impressive MLB debut vs a pitcher in Kershaw that was dealing. Belt saw 29 pitches drawing a walk, hitting a single and striking out. Tonight we look to get back at it, with Durty Sanchez taking the mound vs. Billingsly. Interested in seeing what lineup Bochy runs out there tonight.
Yesterday we went 3-0 to start off the season. Putting me up 3.20 units. Looking to continue the fast start today.
Today my plays are
Phil -1.5 -114
colorado -190
Boston -118
While watching the game I enjoyed the black IPA from San Diego Beer Company. Very good beer, not to hoppy and not to dark.

Defending the Title
Monday November 1st, 2010, A day I never thought I would see in my life. As many of you know the only thing I have wanted more than anything was to finally see that day when my beloved Giants would get to have that oh so awesome celebration in the middle of the infield, celebrating the unthinkable. Well that day finally happen. There are certain situation in life that you play in your mind 1000 times and it still doesn't come close to the real thing when it finally happens. That day was one of them. Today we start the long mission back to defending that title and repeating as world champions. Yesterday I was constantly was checking my Twitter to see if Brandon Belt, the Giants prized prospect was going to make the team. Not only did he make the team, he is going to be the starting first basemen today. With the addition of Belt comes the loss of Travis Ishikawa. I was a big fan of his coming up through the ranks, but it was time for him to go. Better him than Nate Schierholtz. We could not afford to lose that arm in right field. So today we face those hated bums in LA. Big Time Timmy Jim looks to continue his dominance of those Bums. Pablo Sandoval AKA Panda has lost 38 LBS since last season and has had what seems to be a change in approach at the plate this spring. Taking pitches, shortening his swing and going up the middle with 2 strikes. If Panda can return to 2009 form the Giants are going to walk away with the West. Here is how I see the west shaking down this year.

Day Sixteen - Game Time Ready
Well here we go again. DJ Gay hits a runner with 4 seconds left to give SDSU a shot at redemption as they will play BYU at 4 tonight. BYU has put the only 2 blemishes on SDSU record this season and want this MWC title. I feel a victory should move SDSU to the Anaheim region. To win tonight DJ Gay HAS to show up. He has played poorly the last 2 games against BYU. The Show has traveled to Vegas and I feel more of them are driving as I type. They most certainly will be excited and I'm sure they will be relentless on Brandon Davies sitting on the bench. Should be an exciting game. I don't see BYU shooting 58% from 3 point land again this week. Jimmer isn't going off for 50, like he did last night. Tonight is the night the Aztecs will get it done.
On Thursday night I went to Toronado for a Brest cancer benefit where they had 3 new port beers that were pink. I had the belgium named "Motorboat" and a double IPA called "Hakuna ma Ta-Ta's. The double IPA was very hoppy and I hope they continue to brew that beer because it was tasty. After that we went to Casbah to see the Fling Writer. The Fling is a very energetic rock band from Long Beach. They had a lot of people migrating to the stage that were outside talking because they were killing it. after Writer came on stage. It was one of the best local shows I have seen so far this year. Just a guitar player and a drummer, Writer gives off the sound that there are 4 of them on stage. High energy throughout the room and on stage. After the show my neighbor cooked up some steak that were absolutely amazing.
Today plays are
NC -5.5
Florida -3
SDSU -1

Day Fifteen
Another Chupacabra loss last night. We beat ourselves last night. Oh well back at it next week.
Had the new Dogfish Head release yesterday. Aprihop is a mix between an apricot ale and 60 minute IPA. It was very tasty with a great apricot finish. I had it at K n B Wine Cellars in Del Cerro. An absolutely amazing beer selection on tap and in bottle to take home. Friendly patrons all wanting to talk beer. Check it out and you will not be disappointed.
MWC tourney starts today. SDSU will take on the Utes of Utah. SDSU shouldn't have a problem tonight and will be looking at a game tomorrow night vs UNLV on their home court. Another big game tonight in the NBA is the Heat vs Lakers. The Heat are on a 5 game losing streak and still have not beat a good team other than the Lakers this season. This would be a big confidence booster for the Heat if they can win this game tonight. I am going to take
Miami +2
SDSU over 126
Syracuse +1.5
Tonight I am going to see The Fling, Chairs Missing and Writer at the Casbah. Going to be a great show. If you don't have anything to do, I suggest going out and watching a great show.

Day Fourteen
Great day yesterday relaxing. Went to Obriens finally. Was not to impressed with the beer selection. nothing really stood out to me. I will continue to go to the beagle, Hamiltons and Tornado before that place. I did however really like the beer cheese burger made with russian river IPA beer cheese.
After lunch we went and saw Hall Pass. Absolutely hilarious. very over the top crude humor which is what I love. I recommend you see this movie soon.
Busy week this week with work softball and the mountain west tourney. Also going to go see Writer and Tape Deck Mountain on Thursday at the Casbah. If you are in SD I would not want to miss this show.
Today's plays are
Dallas -6.5

Day Thirteen - Winning!
All we did yesterday was Win. SDSU finished the season as co-champions of the MWC. defeating Colorado state 48-66. It was fun watching the students rush the court and celebrate with their team. That is what they are the students team. Now the real season starts. the MWC tournament this weekend and then the big dance in 2 weeks.
The Clovis Cougars won the state championship and did it in some record setting fashion. Placing 9 kids including the first ever Freshman heavyweight champion. They beat a very good Bakersfield program 186-177. Both teams will be loaded and ready to battle for the title again next year. I am very proud of all them, especially Jason Ladd, Zach Nevills and Nick Nevills.
Todays plays are

Day Twelve
So busy yesterday didn't get a chance to make a post. Chupacabras had their 2nd game yesterday and reality set back in with a 16-6 loss. I went 1-2 with a sacrifice and an RBI. Spent the rest of the night at home watching all the Charlie Sheen Madness. I love this madness that is Charlie Sheen. This dude is not only nuts but he is real. He is telling the truth of the delusional thoughts he has.
So yesterday BYU starting forward Brandon Davies was excused from the team for having sex with his girlfriend. A lot of people are outraged at this and think it is unfair. He got what he deserved. When you decide to attend a religious university and you sign an honor code saying you will not have sex, drink, smoke, drink coffee or tea, you have made the decisions to give up those rights. I'm willing to bet that he had scholarship offers from other schools. BYU played last night for the against New Mexico and got crushed. Today my plays are

Tonight is going to be an amazing night at the Casbah. The Silent Comedy, my favorite live show in San Diego, is returning home from tour for a night to bring the house down. For anyone that has never seen them live I suggest you make plans to see them next time they come back. They are sold out tonight. If you are in Fresno they will be playing at Fulton 55 next week. Full review of the show tomorrow,
Album of the day is Fistful of Mercy - As I Call You Down. Fistful of mercy is Dhani Harrison, son of great Beatle George Harrison, Ben Harper and Joseph Author

Day Eleven
Ok so all over sports talk radio yesterday they were talking about "The Show" being a distraction on Saturday during the BYU game. Here is my take on it. "The Show" is one of the most dedicated and craziest student sections in college basketball. They get loud from start to finish, all but into their parts with signs, heads, chants ect. The problem I feel is not "The Show", the problem is the lack of experience not only did the team have on Saturday but "The Show" had at big national televised games as well. The other problem is the lack of big time games at home for SDSU. They had big games this year, @ Gonzaga, @ Cal. But both were on the road. The TV time outs on national TV also killed the momentum they were building. "The Show" has set a standard for the student section at SDSU. Now here is the question. Next year when SDSU isn't as good as this season, will it keep up? Can they keep the creativity and craziness through next season during a down season to keep the players and city hopeful and ready for the 2012-13 season when SDSU will be a top 25 team again. The Seniors have started a legacy, that has gained national attention. Can the underclass keep it up? Will the A.D make a big push to bring in big teams for a non-conference schedule that will prepare the team and fans for big conference games. The other half of this problem falls on the MWC. The Big East, ACC, Big 10, Big 12 and to an extent the SEC are meat grinders every year. BYU is leaving next year and so they creates a void in challenging teams for SDSU to play. UNLV is decent every year. They are gaining Fresno St and Boise St. The Fresno St. effect really intrigues me. They can create that rivalry that was there when SDSU was in the WAC. SDSU needs to come out strong vs Wyoming tonight and let's hope there is no hangover from the loss on Saturday.
The Brandon Belt show started yesterday with his first start of the season and he didn't disappoint. Going 3-5 with 2 doubles, 4 RBI. Travis Ishikawa got the start yesterday in LF. I feel that they are trying to showcase him for a trade because if Belt makes the roster and since DeRosa is showing he is healthy from his surgery last year. Today the Giants play the cubs and we get to see the return of red hot Freddy Sanchez. Sanchez was a catalyst on the Giants winning the World Series last year.
Went to Sessions Public again in Point Loma for dinner last night. Had the Bratwurst and it was very good. Deal on mondays 1 for $4 or 2 for $7. They come with Duck Fat Fries. To go with my brat I had an Allagash Dubbel. Allagash's double IPA. Very hoppy, one of the better double IPA I have had in a while that wasn't Pliny the Elder.
Went 3-0 last night and hope to keep the winning streak going today. We are looking at a bounce back from the Aztecs and taking them -12.5. Also going with the Dallas Mavs -1.5 on the road vs philly. I also like Ohio St -6.5 tonight. Last time the Buckeyes played as the number 1 team in the nation they lost their first game out. Now having been there and dealing with the spotlight, I think they come out with confidence and want to prove they belong there.
SDSU -12.5
Dallas -1.5
Ohio St. -6.5

Day Nine
Man what a letdown yesterday. The atmosphere at SDSU was amazing, too bad the game did not turn out the way everybody wanted. So yesterdays keys to winning the game were rebounds and free throws, lets look at the stats. While SDSU won the battle of the rebounds 37-32, BYU also shot an amazing 14-24 from behind the arc. Free throws SDSU was 11-16 to BYU 12-14. The biggest stat that was the killer for SDSU was Jimmer's 9 assist. I was amazed watching the cat play. He has skills. I really liked how before the game BYU finishes their shoot around and heads to the locker room. 2 minutes later Jimmer comes off the bench by himself and heads back to the locker room alone to the whole arena booing him. I bet he loved it and did it to fuel his fire. The Show really did put on a show. They did a great job keeping the intensity in the building and doing it rather respectfully. We had some jerk-off student in front of us who kept yelling stupid things about byu, mormons ect. and throwing peanuts at the BYU fans. The SDSU fans around us all kept telling him to stop and be mature, but some kids just don't get it.
The Giants continued their winning ways last night with an 8-3 victory over the bums. Hopefully today we will finally get a look at Brandon Belt who played Defense yesterday and committed an error but didn't get to bat. The Giants play the Dimondbacks again today at 12:10.
After the game I went and had a delicious lunch at URBN with Sarah. On our way there we said we were going to get something new. Once we got there we just couldn't do it. The mash potato pizza is so good we couldn't pass it up.
So after pizza we went to OB to meet up with some friends at a bar called Gallaghers Irish Pub. I will never go to this place again. We were there for close to an hour when the bouncer comes up to us and tells us we had to pay a cover to stay in the bar or leave because they were showing the UFC fights. I have never heard of something so stupid in my life. So we went to Sunshine Company and shot some pool. After that we went to Hamiltons and I had 2 new sours. 1 I didn't like so much. It was the Grand Cru from Brasserie De L'Abbaye Des Rocs. Then I had the Petrus aged ale from Brouwerij Bavik - De Brabandere Sour Ale.
Today we have the Lakers vs Thunder at 11:30 and the Knicks vs. Heat today at 5. I'm going to take the Knicks today +8.5 and the Lakers/Thunder over 201.
I also want to take a minute to congratulate the Clovis High School wrestling team. They became only the 2nd team in California wrestling history to qualify all 14 wrestlers to state. Lead by my boys Zach and Nick Nevills. Next weekend is state and Nick is looking to break Zach record as the heaviest freshman to place at the tournament. This week after I get the brackets I will do a full breakdown of the tournament.

Day Eight - Game Time Ready!!!!
Today is the day. The biggest day in San Diego college sports history. What's at stake? Revenge of the only blemish on a 27-1. A statement against a team that thinks they are too good for the Mountain West. Proof that Kawhi Lenoard is the top player in the conference and a top 10 draft pick. Most importantly a potential number 1 overall seed in the big dance! The students have been in line since Tuesday. It has been the talk of the town all week. Now it is the time to stop the talking get out on that court and prove that SDSU is the better team. A healthy D......J.......GAY! needs to have a big game to offset the Jimmer. The 3 big keys to this game are simple. Rebounding is the most important. Most people will say it's shutting down Jimmer, I disagree. The kid is a scorer and he is going to get his 43 like he did in January, but 25+ is almost a certainty. I watched the BYU vs Colorado State game on weds. night and Colorado keep it close until the final 10 minute they got slaughtered on the boards. The next key is free throws. BYU is shooting .760 as a team from the line. SDSU is shooting .683 from the charity stripe. The third key is not to get overwhelmed at the start and play from behind. The Aztecs have made it a habit this year of playing tight the first half and exploding in the 2nd half, with the exception being the last meeting vs the cougars.
My plays today are
SDSU un 140.5
NJ Nets +8.5
Day 1 of the 2011 spring training in the books and the Giants are 1-0 after a 7-6 victory over the Diamondbacks. reigning ROY Buster Posey started right where he left off going 2-3 with a R and 2 RBI. Today we take on the HATED Dodger and BOOOORIBE.
So after many attempt to eat the Beagle Burger at the Regal Beagle, They have been sold out of it the last 3 times I have gone to have it, I finally had one last night and it was awesome. A burger, cheese and special sauce on a sausage roll. The Beagle has turned into one of the most popular beer and sausage spots in San Diego.
Last night while at the Beagle, I had the collaboration beer between Port, Stone and Green Flash called Highway 78. All 3 breweries are located on the 78 so I'm guessing that is where the name is from. It was a scotch ale. I also had a Dutchess sour beer. A good sour, I have had before and will have it again if it is the only sour on tap. Concecration has my heart and I don't think anything will overtake that except I have high expectations for the New Belgium La Folie.
Alright I am off to the game. Fear the Spear and hopefully we are leaving Viejas Arena with a Victory and some respect from the rest of the nation.

Day Seven - I See Orange People!!!!!
That's right folks your 2010 WORLD SERIES CHAMPS start spring training games today @ 12:05 vs the Diamondbacks. Man I have been ready for this day since the day after we clinched the title. So my players to watch at spring training is (along with everyone else in baseball) Brandon Belt, Brandon Crawford, Thomas Neal and Francisco Peguero. Belt was the talk of the minor leagues last season batting a collective .352 in 3 stops up the ladder to the show. Slugging 23 Home Runs, 10 Triples, and stealing 22 bags. He will get playing time at 1st and left. Brandon Crawford needs to raise his .236 avg if he wants to be a September call up. This is my most interesting follow because he is major league ready with the glove but the bat is nowhere close. He needs to really focus in and get that bat going because he is the heir to SS in the next 2 years. Thomas Neal will start the season in Fresno playing LF and the everyday starter giving way to Belt a few days a week. (Being that Belt doesn't force his way on the roster). Francisco Peguero is another one who will start the season in the minors but with Torres and Rowand contracts coming up in the next 2 seasons, if Peguero can duplicate his .329, 77 RBI, 40 SB seasons he will be the leader to be the future center fielder of the Giants.
Cy Timmy will be taking the ball today but don't look for him to go more than 2 innings.
So last night we went up to Solana Beach to the Belly Up to see Longstay, Justin Forece, and Terreplane Sun. We arrived late and only saw the last 2 songs from Terreplane Sun. Very energetic show and stage presence. Justin Forece is a very talented smooth jazz guitarist with great vocals and lyrics. Then came Longstay, I have seen Longstay two other times. Once and Soda Bar where I was absolutely blown away. Lead by Nik Ewing, who I put in my top 5 musicians in SD. Just did not seem to be into it last night. The energy on stage was flat, they were not meshing well with each other. During certain parts of the show you can see the magic and talent that they have and could posses. This is Longstay last show for a while. From what I've heard Nik, who is also in Lesands and does stuff with The Howls is going on tour with Lesands. Hopefully when they get back Longstay will be revived and ready to show San Diego what they are capable
of being, which is one the best bands in San Diego.
We stopped in Encinitas to have dinner at Encinitas Ale House. Sadly there was no where to sit and we had to get to the show so waiting was not an option. We ended up at Chiefs Burger and Brew in Solana Beach. Good atmosphere with plenty of space and TV's. I had to go with the bacon cheeseburger. I liked the fact that they use big thick strips of bacon. Overall the burger was pretty tasty, I would go back there for a burger before a show, its just had going anywhere in Solana Beach that isn't named Pizza Port.

Day Six
Big Victory last night for the Chupacabras...We started off the season with a 19-1 Victory. I went 2-3 with a walk and 2 runs. Next game is Wednesday at 6. If you have nothing to do come down to OB and have somes beers and watch some hilarious softball.
Didn't get much done yesterday with work and softball, so no food or beer review today. I followed up my 3-0 Tuesday with a nice 0-3 yesterday. I will post another blog around 2 today all on the NBA trade deadline and all its moves. The Accenture match play golf tournament started yesterday and Tiger Woods is already out. After making a clutch putt on 18 to force extra holes, he placed his tee shot in the woods and ended his run at this tournament. My other favorite golfer Nick Watney won his match vs. Anthony Kim 5 and 4. Watney will face #1 seed Lee Westwood today.

Day Five
Already Wednesday. So tonight is the start of our 2nd season together as the Chupacabras the name of my softball team. Our first game is tonight at Robb Field in OB at 8. If you are bored and in OB come check us out.
Had some great food last night at Sushi Deli 1. Fried chicken, sweet potato tempura and rice.
Went 3-0 last night on my basketball plays. Great way to start off the 2nd half of the season. Tonight I am going to mix in a little college and pro.
Wisconsin -3.5
Orlando -11
Air Force +1.5
A big game tonight, I am eager to watch is BYU vs Colorado St. Colorado St has a good team this year and could catch BYU overlooking them, getting ready for the showdown with SDSU. I couldn't find a line on this game this morning but if the Rams are getting more than 4 I would be on it.
Album of the day is The Kills - No Wow.

Day Four
Well back at it today. Sucks going back to work after a nice day off. Spent the day yesterday BBQ'n at my buddies Tim and Cary house in OB. Then went to Tap Room for the Younger and Brewley to watch the Syracuse game.
So there has been so much build up for Pliny the Younger. It is hands down one of the hoppiest and tastiest beers I have ever had, But 8.50 for a 4oz taster is ridiculous. They started sign ups around 3 and by 4 they were sold out. I didn't think it would be that crazy with Hamiltons tapping at 3. I also had a pint of Sanctification and Consecration. Consecration is by far my favorite of the sours. Just so tasty. I recommend getting down to Tap Room before they blow all the Russian River kegs and try some.
Basketball picks today were
Houston -1.5
Lakers -7.5
Celtics -4.5
Carmello Anthony is now a New York Knick. Putting him with Amare is going to do damage in the East but the question is will they land CP3 next off-season to compete with the big 3 in South Beach. Knicks also get Chauncy Billups in the trade which is huge. Finals MVP, All-Star just all around baller with no flash or gimmicks.

Day Three
First off want to say Congrats to the SDSU basketball team breaking into the top 4 National rankings this morning. They also received 3 first pace votes. I also want to thanks for first 2 followers, It means a lot to me.
Today is Presidents Day so I am enjoying a nice Monday off.
Yesterday I had breakfast at Eclipse Chocolat on El Cajon Blvd. It was delicious. I had Chocolate covered bacon, biscuits and gravy and sausage stuffed with Gouda. They have a small plate menu and you get to choose 3 plates for 12 bucks. Great deal def. get a lot of food. For dinner we had the BBQ chicken pizza from Pizza Port OB. continuing the theme of never disappointing this pizza was phenomenaln anytime you are in SD you defiantly need to make a stop at the Port.
Pliny the Younger Russian Rivers triple IPA, one of the most sought after beers each February is being tapped today at 5 at Tap Room. There has been about a dozen tappings of this beer so far this month and none have lasted longer than 2 hours. I believe there is a tapping of PtY at Hamiltons today at 3 as well. I am excited to try this years batch. Tap Room will also be featuring Russian Rivers -ions collection which has a lot of sour beers. Russian River started in Temecula, California as Blind Pig Brewery is now located in Santa Rosa, Ca. They are becoming one of my favorite breweries.
#20 Syracuse will take on #16 Villanova today at 4. Villanova beat the cuse by 11 in January but they are without leading scorer Corey Stokes. I am going to take Syracuse on the road +3.5. If you are in San Diego check out Brewley Pint in Pacific Beach, which is Syracuse headquarters. My other play today will be #2 Kansas taking on unranked Oklahoma State. I will be playing the under 144.5 on this game today. This morning Kansas suspended junior gaurd Tyshawn Taylor. Taylor has started all but 1 game this season for the Jayhawks.
Album of the day today is Cold War Kids - Mine Is Yours. CwK are one of my favorite bands and I am excited to give this album a complete listen.

Day Two
Man that Will Powered IPA was amazing. The growler did not make it through the night. Had a great Burger last night for dinner at Sessions Public in Point Loma. I highly recommend checking that place out for dinner with a great craft beer selection.
SDSU continued there dominating season with a big Victory over Air Force yesterday and are ready for a good week of practice before the showdown of the season and biggest game in SDSU history with BYU Saturday.
NBA All-Star game tonight where a bunch of all stars show off their horrible defensive skills and each team scores 130+ points. I am not a fan of any sports all star games. Daytona 500 was this morning and won by a 20 year old rookie in just his 2nd race. Maybe a fresh face ala cole trickle could be what the sport needs to build some popularity.
Tomorrow is Russian River night at Tap Room and will be tapping one of the last kegs of Pliny the Younger in San Diego. They will also have some of RR sours on tap. Make sure you get there early if you want some of the Younger
Album of the day today is Funeral- by The Arcade Fire. One of the best albums of the decade.

Day One
Welcome to my Blog. Here you will find an in depth look at an mixture of my favorite worlds. Sports, Craft Beers, Music and Food. I hope you all enjoy it.
Today is a day I have been looking forward to for weeks now. I finally get my hands on a growler of Automatic Brewing Co. "Will Powered IPA". This is an Oatmeal IPA. Automatic brewed this beer for a Charity event earlier this month. A review and pictures will be up later today.
This morning we have Notre Dame vs. West Virgina. Notre Dame is trying to continue their hot streak in the brutal Big East. Notre Dame has ripped off 8 straight in the toughest division in college basketball. We also have the SDSU vs. Air Force game at 11. SDSU better not overlook the Falcons on the road before their big showdown with JFU...errr I mean BYU. The Aztecs need to start fast against the falcons who play a very tight and discipline game.
Todays best bets
Notre Dame +4
St. Johns +3.5
Texas -7
The Album of the Day is Cut Copy - Zonoscope. Each day I will try to feature an Album I will listen to that day. For the next 2 months most will be bands that I will be seeing at Coachella.
Thanks for viewing my blog and I hope you will come back.
